So I have a Sabertooth 990FX and a fx 6300 on Windows 10 64bit
I have 4x4 of G.Skill Ripsaw series which is on the QVL and for 4x4.
Issue im having is, I can't get it to run dual channel. I can't get the B slots to use the ram installed in them at all.
Any stick in either A1 or A2 works just fine. Boots up, shows 4 gigs (or 8 if using A1&A2). If installed in dual channel mode A2&B2, Bios will show 4gigs ez screen, but if you go into the NB settings, it shows both memory is installed. Windows 10 will show 8 gigs (4 usable) and CPUz will tell me 8 gigs and show the memory in both slots.
Similarly if I go 4x4 it will show 8 gigs on the bios ez screen, but show all 4 sticks installed under the NB settings. Windows will say 16 (8 usable) and CPUz will tell me 16 gigs and show the memory for all 4 slots.
The PC will not post with any ram in B1 or B2 and i dont think its supposed too. But if both slots were bad would the NB and CPUz and Windows detect them and all their functionality? I have seem many other people have this same exact problem, that seemed to be cleared through a faulty stick or just were not able to figure it out, However ive fully tested these sticks multiple times and they are all good.
Things I have tried & tested:
MSconfig/Boot option for max memory checked and unchecked.
Removed/reset Cmos
Default Bios Settings
Increased Dram and NB voltage.
Decreased to 1333
Tested each individual and paired sticks in the A slots and memory tested them. All good
Latest Bios Version 2501
Im aware one set is the GBRL and other is GBXL but its same hardware, just different headsinks runnign exact same settings and the actual model # of all of the match the QVL and ive tested the pairs in A1&A2 and no issues. Also running either set in DC mode for A2&B2 yields same issue with the same sets.
