So I'm building my friend's computer and he opted to go for the 4930k and a sabertooth x79 combo.

Problem is I can't get the damn thing to post. the BIOS version is 4608, which is the newest one available.

When i turn the computer on, the fans start up, and the CPU_LED light flashes and then it shuts off. I've checked all the power connections, tried with one stick of ram, different ram etc... The CPU cooler is perfect and at this point I'm at a loss for words.

I've never had an issue building computers before, and this is the first time I've ever used an ASUS Mobo.

Have I lost the touch? Or is there something I'm missing (before i replace the mobo for an ASrock or MSI...

Solution
Just above the 24pin ATX power connector is a memok button. Power on the system then hold down that button until it beeps. That will set the memory and cpu at a stable setting so that it will post. I had to do this on my first startup with mine. Once you do that, you can get into the bios and set things up as needed.
