I've got an ASUS Sabertooth X79 motherboard and it's been running a set of 4 2GB DDR3 ram sticks from a previous system. I'm finally looking to replace these and was considering updating the BIOS and getting 16GB sticks. Given compatibility with sticks over 8GB was added later, I'm having trouble determining compatibility. Anyone tested larger sticks with this motherboard before?

RAM I'm looking at:

Only takes 8 gig cards. 8 x 8= 64GB max.
those in the link sound fine. place in a1,b1.c1,d1 for full quad config, that is if your cpu works with quad memory otherwise a1,a2,b1,b2 for dual . Btw nice board, colours used on slots, yuck :)

I take it the X79 bios update that allows up to 128GB mentioned in this URL doesn't apply to mine, then?
