Sabertooth X79 Not Detecting SSD in BIOS

Hi,

My Sabertooth X79 doesn't seem to be detecting my OCZ Vertex 4 128GB SSD in the BIOS - it is not showing up as a bootable device.

It was - not for long - showing in the drive manager in Windows 7, but now it isn't.

Check for loose cables. Plug it into a different SATA port.

SATA power and data cables are convenient and easy to plug in, but I find many of the cheaper ones come loose too easily. There should be a metal clip on one side of your sata connector that makes a positive click when seating it. Power cables don't often have this but they are a little bigger and more secure.
