Hi everyone:

I just purchased this mobo and it's not displaying nothing on the screen.
I got this "Boot_Device_Led" (labeled on the board) turn on and two beeps. The first one is high and short, and the next one is a little longer.

My mobo manual says about these beeps:

"One short beep: VGA Detected (that's good), Quick boot set to disable (don't know if this is good), No keyboard detected (I will look so ridiculous if this is the problem while holding my wireless keyboard)."

I don't know if there is a relation between that evil red light on the mobo and the mysteryous beep code.

I don't know if it's something with the RAM compatibility, I checked the Kingston webpage and it says that is flawlessly compatible.

This is my hardware:

RAM: Kingston HyperX 2133MHZ 2x8GB (Kingston says it's compatible)
CPU: i7 3770K (Very fucking compatible!)
PSU: Cooler Master Extreme2 650W
Case: Cheap pizza box.

YES! I plugged everything out and plugged it again like a monkey!
YES! I unplugged any other devices and left only the PSU and the CPU.
YES! I unplugged one RAM stick.
YES! I replugged that RAM stick.
YES! I unplugged both RAM sticks.
YES! I make sure computer is on.
I'm posting you a photo of that expensive and useless mobo with it's annoying red led.

Thank you guys!

On the sabertooth make sure the eight pin power Connector on the outside edge is plugged in. A lot people uses the wrong power plugs from the power supply. Don't use the six plus two cables. There should be a four pin or two four pin cables to make an eight pin cable. The sabertooth also only has hdmi port on the back if your monitor is DVi or VGA you need to plug in a gpu. Look at the mb ser number label make sure it has the newest bios loaded if not use the USB flashback port to update it. Also check that the CPU fan not on the CPU aux pins.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to answer.

I readed your answer and unplugged the 4+4pin connector to see if it might be wrong and I found something funny, I don't know if this is the problem:

The firs 4-pin connector fits well on the "first part" of the 8-pin power connector, but the second one is different from the onboard connector.

These are the pairs:

and this is the power connector on the MOBO:

I'm thinking of use only one 4-pin connector.

My monitor supports HDMI, DVI and VGA and I'm sure that it work because I'm writting this using it.

Unfortunatelly I don't have a GPU or money to buy one, since I spent it on this MOBO. :/

About the BIOS, I tried to update to the last one. Visited the ASUS page and downloaded it, and unzipped it, and put it on a usb drive at FAT32, and stick it on the rear part, on the BIOS flash usb port but with no succed.

Apparently it just stucks on the upgrade, after five seconds light stills and no upgrade happens, don't know why... here a lovely photo:

Tried the BIOS update three times with three different usb drives with no luck.

And finally, the CPU FAN is right connected, I think, took a photo:

Also, I tried to reset (or whatever) the CMOS and changed the RAM for one with slower bus (the originals were at 2133mhz), but still the fucking red led on and no post.

So... I'm running out of ideas...

Do you think is a DOA?

Well... thank you so much for your time!

Thanks for you help.

I took the mobo out of the case and put it on a pizza box (cleaned!).

I turned it on but the boot_device_led was still on and no post.

So I unplugged the memory stick and put it another one, with slower bus and the same led appeared.

I thought it was the PSU, so I replaced it this morning and turned it on and sent me the RAM led (of course! there were no ram sticks!)

So, I plugged one RAM stick and the same, boot_device_led and no post.

Then, I tried to flash the BIOS on the rear part again, but failed.

But I noticed that a led turns on for one second before the "boot_device_led" and it turns off, I remove the dust protection and found a "VGA_led". Don't know if this led is trying to say something to me.

And that's all.

I replaced everything but the CPU, because I don't have any other CPU.

At this point, don't know what else to do.

Thank you all.
