Hello! This is my first build. I was excited when I saw the system turn on, however that changed when the DRAM LED stayed on.

It worked at first, with the DRAM LED on, booting into the BIOS. Then it crashed, and I am unable to turn it off. Is it a good idea to turn it off from the power supply? If I press the memok button, the CPU LED and DRAM LED both flash after each other, then after about 10 seconds the CPU LED stops and the DRAM LED stays on. Since the first crash, when I turn it on my monitor stays blank, as if it is not connected.

I use the following parts:

Kingston Fury White 16GB 1866mhz
Asus Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1
Intel i5 4690K
Corsair RM850
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB

Thanks in advance for any help!

I don't know how, but I just put everything back together and it works perfectly now... No red lights, everything installed and the bios loads up. No idea what I did...

Thanks for all your help!

Hello! Tried that. Same result. Nothing appears on monitor and red light persists.

Just checked each slot and yeah still a no go. I will try checking the CPU pins tomorrow as it as getting late.

Just so I am less confused, can you tell me what you think may be going on right now? Or what these red lights may mean?

Thanks for helping!

Checked the CPU - No bent pins.

What I don't understand is why nothing at all comes on my monitor. I am positive I have installed everything correctly, as I have triple checked anything and everything. If it makes a difference, when the computer was on and inside the bios (however it still had the red light), I plugged in an external DVD drive and this is when the problems seemed to start. Coincidence? Or could that have done something? Ofcourse the red light was already on but the crashes and nothing on my monitor started with this.

Hmm, I have used it with my laptop with no problems, I think at one point I also had in there a wireless adapter (USB) that I hadn't used for years...
