It's my first time overclocking.
I have a i5 6600k
Cryorig H5.
I changed the cpu ratio to 4.0 at first. Only that. Then the CPU core voltage automatically went up to 1.216 according to cpu-z. So I went and make it higer to 4.2ghz it was the same voltage and same temps Around 52c during stress test about 10 minutes. Now my question is. I want this processor to last me a long time. Should I turn down the clock speed as well as the CPU core voltage? Or is my voltage and temp good? thanks!

Solution
Yes, 1.216 should be safe enough, although you should try manually adjusting the voltage, you may be able to get the same speeds on lower voltages :)

Okay if I'm going to overclock it higher and set the voltage to manual. How high do you think I can go (voltage) without shortening the lifespan of my 6600K?

Thanks

Its recommended to say under 1.300v, but it really all depends on what temperature your CPU is running at and for how long everyday. but for the most part you should theoretically have your CPU for as long as you need in worst cases 5 years if you don't mess up and keep it cool. unless you get unlucky :)

right now I'm at 4.2Ghz at 1.150 volts my temps are around 30 - 35 idle and 50 at full load. should I push it more?

so I got 4.4Ghz on 1.250 volts aida64 stress test 25 mins
current 55
minimum 41
maximum 57

are these numbers good? :)

yes, those are pretty nice results. try and push more :) maybe 4.5 @ 1.280v 😛
also sometimes you may pass stress tests, but in heavy CPU intensive games for long sessions your CPU may crash so maybe do some more game testing :)
