Are prebuilt Asus desktop PC’s safe for gaming?

My friend used to have a prebuilt PC (Not Asus) and the power supply of the PC ”exploded” while he was gaming.
The PC was already 3 years old.

This raised my concern about me playing with my Asus PC since the thought about my power supply blowing up doesn’t sound fun.

What are the chances of this happening while playing more intensive games?

There's more to it than just what you are asking. Not all PSUs are created equal. Some prebuilts have decent power supplies, others have very crappy ones.

You would have to tell use the complete system specs including power supply to give an answer.

What were the specs of your freiend's PC that exploded? Did he add extra parts?
