SAFE MODE ON KEYBOARD

I cannot get into safe mode as my keyboard does not rewspond when I get to the mode selection screen on boot up.This is using Vista. Any ideas?

try plugging keyboard into the ps2 port (round one) if its there try switching to usb
Does the delete key get you to bios?
