Safe Mode?????????

When and how can I boot into windows safe mode. Have a problem I need to fix but cant figure out how to and at what boot up point can I get into safe mode. Thanks for any help!!

F8, Control, ... depending on which OS.

Thanks for responding, but the system was FINALLY repaired back to original settings.
