Safe to drag and drop large (4GB) files?

I have several large movie files (4GB .avi format) and I want to copy them over to my new backup drive. Is it safe to just drag and drop the files to the new hard drive?

Does windows XP have built in validation when you move or copy files from one hard drive to the next? Any chance the files would get corrupted?

Short answer, yes. (I move 9+ Gb repeatedly) XP has no issues with file copying (Vista is a little slow tho) But it is still better to: Rt click, copy, then paste wherever. Test that the copy is functional (run/watch it), then delete the original.

haha, yeah. Does XP have validation built in though? Does it just blindly copy with no error protection?
