Safe to overclock?

I have been wondering if it would be beneficial and/or safe to overclock my GeForce GTX 760 2GB video card. I have an Intel i7-4770 cpu and a Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 -- 1x PCIe 3.0 x16, 4x USB 3.0, 6x SATA-III 6Gb/s motherboard. I also have 16 gbs ram. Also, can you overclock the i7-4770 with it not being a (k) series? I've read mixed reviews on both subjects so I thought i'd come here and maybe someone could help me out.

Thanks

It only seems more challenging than it is. Once you actually do it you'll look back and say to yourself, "That wasn't so bad!"

Here is one more link to help you out. It may contain something that wasn't covered in the other links I gave you. It is for beginners, which tells me that it goes into great detail.
First, no you can't overclock the i7-4770. It has to be an unlocked version, and as you stated above it is shown with the "k" at the end of the model number. Your motherboard has to be overclock compatible as well.

And as for overclocking the GPU, this is what you need to see/hear. Check out this link.

Any other questions you have, feel free to ask! :)

Here are some benchmarks for you!

LOL That's why this forum is here. Everyone helps everyone, and a bunch of eyes looking for something is far more effective than one set. I never did address whether or not that overclocking the GPU will help you, but the answer is a definite yes. You will have to install a cooler on it though. Overclocking causes a whole lot more generation of heat, which left unchecked can completely destroy your GPU. If you would like for me to find some suitable solutions for GPU cooling let me know and I will find them for you.

WATER BLOCK, WATER BLOCK, WATER BLOCK!

LOL Yes, water block.

haha this seems to be turning into more of a daunting task than i had envisioned. I just finished putting a water cooler on my cpu and I think that was enough tinkering for me for a while. Thanks for the help though guys, ill definitely come back to this post when it's time to overclock lol.
