Hey guys . I need some help , my cpu is underclocked at 2.8ghz (amd fx-4170) and I know its old and <Mod Edit> cpu but its all I got ... I want to "overclock" it (more likely to put it at around 4 ghz like it should be) but im not sure how much voltage does it need and if my motherboard can handle it since it underclocked my cpu by default . My motherboard is Gigabyte ga-78lmt-s2p (yep its old too) . Im asking you guys because month ago I clocked it to 3.8Ghz with higher voltage than I have now but after week I couldnt turn on my pc (during startup it said that my pc ran into problem) soo im not sure if I f*cked up that overclocking or it was just windows issue . (and yes , that cpu ran at 4.2ghz without problem on my older Asus motherboard but I had to replace it + I still have my 700W power supply ) Any help ?
