[SOLVED] Safest GPU choice? (PSU Pin Connectors Dilemma)

Hey, I'd like to ask for advice about choosing a new GPU:

My family used to have a gaming PC with an AMD HD-5870 GPU installed, but it stopped working. Now we'd like to buy a new GPU, and we're interested in the model "Nvidia GTX 1650 Super". These are the only models which are sold in our hometown:

MSI Ventus XS (GFX 1650S):

ASUS TUF (GFX 1650S):

I think the Asus TUF GPU should be generally preferred, but I saw that it has a direct PIN connector to the PSU, whereas the MSI Ventus XS model is only connected to the motherboard (via PCI-E).

I was wondering if perhaps our PSU (Corsair VS650) could have damaged our old GPU, and this could be a reason to choose the MSI Ventus XS GPU model?
I checked online that Corsair VS650 PSUs have a mixed reputation. Please let me know what you think. Cheers,

they both need a 6-pin power cable to run.
the 1650S is a 100W card and the PCIe supplies 75W
the VS is the lowest end cheapest unit corsair sells and I do not suggest using it out of warranty coverage.

I think you're mistaken. The MSI card also requires a 6-pin PCIE connector from the power supply.

I would definitely want to test the power supply before pouring more money into a new graphics card.
