Salvage broken laptops for gaming pc

I have a broken dell inpiron n5040
And a Toshiba both with screens broke are the any parts like ram or hard drive so I don't have to buy an os that I can salvage for a gaming pc?

RAM: no, laptops use different form factor RAM than desktops (SO-DIMM vs DIMM).
HDD: yes. But you probably won't be able to use this to get Windows on your desktop for free. What version of Windows?

those oem are not transferable, the only thing might be the hdd, but they usually are slow 5400rpm, not for gaming pc.

could try ebay them as parts?

Could I use the optical drive from the laptops? Although they are probably different is some way

If the laptop is in good running condition and only the screen is broken, you may sell it as a whole. A new screen for your Dell N5040 will cost around $40-$70.

And selling it by parts might be harder to do.
