I am building the cheapest possible gaming-grade PC using mostly salvaged parts and purchasing parts to play most older games at high/ultra settings. I expect to run newer games (such as StarCraft II and Bioshock: Infinite) at medium to medium-high settings with some settings disabled. I am not looking for a high-grade PC or one that can handle every game with maxed settings.

Here is my build. Most of the parts will be from eBay because I have noticed that Newegg does not have the old (circa 2009) technology I am seeking.

CPU: Intel Pentium D 945 (3.66 GHz) - Retail (eBay)
MOBO: ASUS P5B VM D0 - Retail (eBay)
RAM: G.SKILL 1GB x2 DDR2 - Retail (included w/MOBO, eBay)
HSF: Stock Intel LGA 775 heatsink - Retail (eBay)
HDD: Seagate 320 GB 7200 RPM - Salvaged
PSU: OEM 300W PSU - Salvaged
GPU: PNY nVidia GeForce 8800 GT (x2) - Retail (eBay)
DVD: Western Digital DVD+RW - Salvaged
Case: OEM Gateway - Salvaged

My greatest concern is the case. I do not know if I have enough airflow with one 250 mm fan present. To that end, I am willing to purchase something like: NZXT CA-H230I-W1 White ATX Mid Tower Computer Case and put in multiple fans (MASSCOOL Case Fan (120 mm)). Thanks!

gaming my ass. I have a similar setup in my current PC (i am slowly upgrading everything as i get the money) and I get about 15-25 fps average, 30 max in Minecraft with low settings. So yeah.

Keep saving up until you at least hit 3-4-450 dollars. Buy an apu with a good cooler.
This will get you no where...AND you need 2gb to operate windows 7+...
Just save up. It will better i promise
