I play Fortnite and CS:GO and whenever I play on epic settings I average 200fps and same thing with low settings. On CS:GO same thing high settings about 110 fps and low about 110 fps too. I dont understand

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
GPU: MSI GTX 1080

Solution

Watch this vid. Can watch the whole lot but what i meant about pre-rendering frames is explained from 1:40.

1800x is more than capable of handling a lot of frames even at low resolutions albeit you want the gpu involved as well so reducing game quality has gpu doing less work and cpu doing more work. If you watch the video from 1:40, it explains how involved the cpu is not only pre-rendering frames but other ingame stuff as well.

If you're getting fps drops means something else is taking away the cpu's attention from game. Like background running processes, malware etc. Something the cpu is having a terrible time dealing with.

Could also be optimisations as well not allowing...

The issue is that my fps averages the same whatever the settings are. Example if I play fortnite on epic settings I average 200-250 fps and if I play on the lowest settings I still get 200-250 fps while I see others who get like 350-400fps

Could also be optimisations as well not allowing your components to run efficiently. This could be game settings, power plans both in Windows and Nvidia or drivers not installed properly. I would avoid using Geforce Experience (if you're using it) to update/install and even optimise your games. More often than not GE causes more problems than it solves.

Windows Game bar and it's xbox dvr default running recording is another performance breaker.

Good idea to keep your system running lean, not too much crap running in the background. Reinstall Nvidia drivers (using DDU first in safemode to remove drivers properly). Make sure your motherboard's chipset drivers are up to date (find these at motherboard vendor's website). And scan for malware.

Link to DDU - https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html (Install DDU in normal Windows then boot to safemode to run the program)

Link to Nvidia drivers - https://www.geforce.com/drivers (Always run the installer as Administrator)

You'll also want to check cpu and gpu temps and frequencies under load using a stress benchmarks and monitor with a program like Hwinfo64 which'll show a whole range of sensor readings to determine if there's heat related throttling.

Any solution to this situation yet? I am having the same issue with 1050ti 2gb and i5 7300 hq. And it is happening from 3-4 months, it was fine before that. It was giving sweet 200fps on CSGO.
