Same operating sysytem on 2 different drives

Hello,
My operating system (XP Pro) got corrupt and would not work properly. Instaed of re-formatting the C drive I replaced it with a bigger drive and re-installed on the new drive. My question is, can I install the old drive and try to retreive some of the data or will the XP on the 2 drives conflict? Still learning. Thanks in advance.

You can add the drive and it might show up as D drive.

you might have to take OWNERSHIP of folder under Sharing and Security to be able to access them
