Simply, I play at 1440p, I have an 7500 with a 1070 at the moment which is lacking in terms of using chrome and game or running sources in obs (encoding is NVENC) for example.

They are both the same price (inc moba, RAM ect) but I understand at 1440p the CPU means less. The 9600k apparently has better gaming performance but at 1440p it can't be by much so the upgrade path and extra threads of the 3600/3600x is appealing for sure. and apparently the 3600/3600x will do apparently do better in the future more than the 9600k due to games taking more advantage of the higher threads

I'd like to get some different opinions on the matter. Thank you:)

Edit: Games I play are mainly AAA Titles. Warzone has my attention atm

Solution
Comparisons of most games will show the 9600K with a slight lead in average FPS in many games, but, I'd choose the R5-3600 every day , as it's 12 threads often help in maintaining acceptable minimum FPS...

Between 9600k and 3600/3600x, go for Ryzen.
But what about Intel 10th gen, are you considering those? I feel that the competition is leaning more towards 10600k vs 3600/3600x now as they both have 6 cores & 12 threads.

Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately the 10600/10600k is a little above what I'd be willing to spend. Around £10 (approx) more.
Because of that i am 100% leaning more towards the ryzen, especially because the Ryzen 4000s will support the same mobas too. :)
Thank you again
