Dear Forum:
I am using Windows 7 Internet Connection Sharing on one of my machines. At this location, I have a laptop getting Xfinitywifi hotspot on the wifi as the internet connection and on the LAN port where the sharing is happening, I have a Netgear WNDR3400 router. I am using the router in AP mode and am connecting the WAN port to the laptop so that the wifi connections to it are encrypted and isolated from the hotspot which is not encrypted. That is all working fine, but I am open to suggestions for improvement..
However, I am also wanting to do several things that would be much easier if the laptop and the wifi clients were all on the same subnet. I can think of many ways to accomplish this, but all of them seem to have issues or are a little complicated. So, here is the question:
How can I make the laptop and the wifi clients all be on the same subnet? I was just now wanting to run an app on one of my androids to make it a wireless keyboard and mouse and the app (understandably) REALLY wants to be on same subnet as the laptop.
Please advise. Thanks, VoipZapper
