Same video card but worse graphics

ok so i just got a new desktop and downloaded steam and counter strike source on it. I used to play on my

old computer and the graphics were pretty good. then when i got my new one, i put my old computer's video

card into my new one. but when i launched css the graphics were even worse then my old computer's. any

reasons y?

depends on what type of CPU the old machine had and what CPU the new machine has... lets start there, also, what is the video card?
