You will have to count yourself out of nearly the entire new Windows laptop market. I wonder if Microsoft will even allow Windows to be preloaded without the Copilot key.

WinFuture reckons buyers will have to part with “around 1,800 euros,” to get one of these new Snapdragon X-powered laptops, which is $1,960 at today’s exchange rate, ignoring variables like VAT.

They can have them for that price.

You can have windows without a copilot key but it doesn’t qualify as an “AI computer”

The question is: how many hoops would you have to jump through to do that? And will it even be possible in the long run?

Remapping the Office key required killing the Explorer process, mapping the key combo and then restarting Explorer.
Will the remap hack survive the next software update, or will it be automatically disabled?
How long before such hacks would be classified as malware by antivirus software?

There are cheaper options from different makers, but sadly none of them offer a sub US$1000 option.
