Hey guys!

I got a question. Ive got a samsung 2233rz 120hz screen. I have used it for ages on my desktop and i could always use 120hz. Recently ive been using my laptop. It has a 780gtx m and i connected the screen with an hdmi cable since the notebook doesn't have a pci slot.

I only get 60hz on the hdmi 1.4 connection. I was wondering if i would use a DVI to display port cable if i could use 75 or 100hz? The notebook has a displayport and a displayport mini connection (both 1.2).

Thanks in advance!

Does a dvi dual link to display port cable work aswell? (Instead of the adapter)

No, standard DP to DVI cables are Single-Link only, even if they claim to be Dual-Link.

I bought an active adapter and a cable aswell, tried them both and still wont get more than 60hz. When i go to nvidia control panel i only get 3tabs, half of the options are missing. Looked for a solution but cant seem to find anything useful. It seems like the onboard hd4600 gfx is blocking it and the 780m gtx wont work. Any ideas anyone?

When im in w7 it shows the intel hd4600 in properties and not thr nvidia gpu. I cant disable it in Bios and if i disable it in w7 itself the screen goes black and nvidia dissapears aswell. It uses optimus so i guess it toggles gpu ingame? When i access nvidia control panel the only thing i see is 3d settings. Settings like digital vibrance or resolution arent anywhere to be found. Any ideas on this? :(
