I'm trying to decide on the best monitor for my needs and budget as a gamer/developer/designer/14 hours a day computer addict.

From what I've read on this forum and a few other sites (like Xbit... not like CNet 😛 ), and choosing from the selection of monitors available here in my country, I have narrowed my choice to the Samsung 225BW or the NEC 20WGX2...

However, I'm afraid I don't know enough to make the final choice, or be confident about my choice (maybe there's something I'm missing/don't know).

What do you guys think?

P.S. - Should I be worried that these two are 5/6 ms and not 2 ms like everyone else is showing off these days, or is this not an issue in these screens?

Thanks for the help guys.

I went ahead and bought the NEC MultiSync 20WGX2...
I'm quite happy, except for the fact that I've been get splitting headaches everyday since I got this screen... I'm going to do a "control group" for a few days using my old screen to see if it's indeed because of the screen... Anyone else experienced something like that?

LiuKang: As far as I can see, the Samsung 226BW isn't available here in Israel yet... So I don't think that's an option right now.

Sounds like you have the brightness turned up too high..
After you've checked brightness, you might want to check the glare factor. (Wouldn't it be nice if they made panels that were both anti-glare and smooth finish at the same time? :) )

LOL... Maybe we'll see that right after they invent coffee which is both hot and cold at the same time.

I can't see reflection being any kind of problem at all. Of course you notice it when the screen is turned off, but as soon as you display something, the glare becomes virtually unnoticeable... even with a light behind. (One exception might be watching a movie with a large consistently dark area on screen... but then, couldn't you turn out the light during the movie?) "Glare" concerns are waaayyy overblown, IMO. On a scale of 100 with 100 being worst, I'd call it < 10.
