Hi. I just purchased a new Samsung 2333SW monitor (not from newegg). There is a lot of backlight bleeding in my opinion. It is really annoying watching movies and playing games. Here is a photo I took in the daytime with no editing. Is this normal or should I return it for a new one? Thanks.

Backlight bleeding is a common issue with all LCD technologies.

Based on my experience, TN panels seems to suffer from more instances and severity of blacklight bleeding than more expensive LCD tech; MVA/PVA and IPS. The monitor you have uses a TN panel. However, I must say it looks rather excessive.

Try lowering brightness and contrast, it may help but it will not eliminate your issue. Your only other recourse is to exchange for another one and hope the replacement does not have an even worse issue.
