samsung 3d tv

Hello.
I would like to know if a F6100 samsung 3d tv is capable of running games in 3d on a PC. And if so, is there anything else that I would need in order to run it?
What does a TV need in order to run 3d games on a PC?

I can't see a problem, The tv is just acting as a monitor. even if it is not 3d ready you can buy after market 3d emitters.But your tv must be at least HD capable. The tv is just receiving & displaying the signal fed to it by your video card. I have a 55 in toshiba that is 3d capable and it displays the 3d signal from my puter just fine. but you will still need your 3d glasses.

I haven't tried playing games in 3d yet, so I have 0 experience on these sort of things. I currently own an ES 6k series in my living room and I have been streaming videos to it from my PC. I know that at some point I received an error that a 1080p 3d video I was streaming was not supported due to it having too many fps (it was either 30 or 50, I can't remember, but I can test it again once I get home). If such a TV is limited in fps, I don't want the game to be limited by the TV in terms of fps.

P.S. The f6100 does not have wi-fi, so I'm considering buying the f6400 which costs a bit less than 700$.
I need someone to teach me the basics here. I don't even understand why the tv was limited to 30 or 50 fps in 3d, since that would mean 60/100 Hz refresh rate, right?

Sorry but the TV you are listing is a 3DTV not a 3D gaming TV . there are many limitations for this type of TVs for PC and gaming you should be aware of

for a start it does not support Nvidia 3D Vision so Nvidia 3D wont work on this monitor
The TV is 200hz MCI but not native and that means the TV duplicates the frames internally to add some smoothness play but it does not actually receive 120 or 200 hz from source (These TVs including yours has only HDMI and single DVI or VGA port , these ports receive max of 120 hz and even worse 48 hz on 1920 res)

so basically this TV can run 3D gaming on 60hz on resolution 1024 x 780 only (120 hz totall devided by each eye) or 24 hz on 1920 res and this is very low in gaming

gaming 3D performance will be below average, also you can not run 2D on 120hz originally on higher resolution and you will be able to run games in 3D that come witn built in 3D engine like crysis 2,3 and Gears Of War 3 ..etc . other games that do not have built in 3D engine you will have to use a middle rendering software called TriDef and it costs around $49

you can play 3D movies just fine , play 3D games in the limits i told you , but for full 3D gaming you need a specialized 3D gaming monitor

thanks for the reply. I got the f6400 for my bedroom and it'll be used strictly for what I use my living room tv: streaming movies and internet videos. And a game or two from samsung market.

Your explanation makes sense and explains why I had the 30 fps restrictions on input. When I'll buy a new PC I'll also invest in a proper monitor and do the setup the proper way. When I'll invest in a new PC I'll decide based on the benchmarks if I'll focus on nvidia 3dvision or amd hd3d.
