Samsung 840 EVO 1TB SSD

I see there's a nice sale on this both on Newegg and Amazon and I'm ready to make an impulse purchase. Right now I have a WD 1TB Black HDD. would it be easy to transfer everything over on to the SSD? Does making a backup of an SSD work the same way as an HDD? Normally, I'd spend more time researching this myself but I'm not sure how long this deal will last so I'm looking for the quickest answers haha.

I'd use the SSDs for things that you need/want to load fast like games like the OS, put the rest of the stuff you don't use as much and don't need to load as fast on the HDD.

This is a 1tb SSD tho, same as my current HDD, so storage space isn't really an issue. I just wanna know if I can easily copy everything on my current HDD over to an SSD of the same size

Well, I don't know, I run only SSDs of 2TB, so I don't have a lot of expertise with HDDs.

I'm not sure about "easily" transfer them over, but I think you can do it except for the OS. Or maybe you can transfer over the OS but it won't be easy.

Samsung SSD's come with a piece of software called Samsung Magician. It's designed for exactly this purpose.

PS.
I think you have to buy the USB cable separately. Any generic SATA to USB adaptor should work. You don't need to buy samsungs.

As long as the contents on the HDD is less than the total storage on the SSD you can migrate the data over with any popular software such as the samsung one listed above.
