Good day computer experts!
I just bought a new SSD a samsung 120gb 840 series..

i just want to ask what is the best OS for this kind of SSD?

PLEASE HELP me choose between win7 and win8..

my desktop is not a Touchscreen ready PC..

here are the specs of my Rig:

cpu: core i5 3330
mobo: Asus p8z77-m pro
gpu: evga gtx 660 2gb FTW
cooler: corsair h80i
HDD: WD BLUE 500GB
SDD: Samsung 840 series 120gb
psu: corsair VS650

THANKS IN ADVANCE.. HOPING TO HEAR FROM YOU A SMARTER SUGGESTIONS & IDEAS.. THANKS..

It doesn't matter, you can install either OS on that solid state drive. Both OS harvest the SSD potential well. At last it comes down to you, install win 8 if you like the new tabbed interface or the old win 7 interface.

thanks! but i just want to ask, we do all know that TRIM feature of this kind of SSD is only for Win7, i dont have any idea if win8 is capable of enabling the TRIM feature.. fyi trim is very important in SSD nowadays...hope you have any ideas or suggestions..

WIndows 8 doesn't need trim, it optimizes the SSD automatically?
Follow this tutorial for optimizing your SSD. http://www.tweakhound.com/2012/11/14/windows-8-ssd-settings-etc/

wow is that true? i'm searching this kind of tweak for awhile.. other than this link do you have another one? i do believe in win7 u must disable prefecting and defragmentation, etc, but win8 specifically in the link you gave: you can apply do defrag & prefecthing, can you show me a proof? or another links that proves it :)

i have very useful link for win8 ssd tweaks, http://www.overclock.net/t/1240779/seans-windows-8-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds
