Getting ready to start putting new PC together and looking for drivers and firmware.
I don't see any firmware for the 850 Evo on the Samsung site. Has there not been any released, or is it perhaps packaged with the Magician software suite?
Firmware is updated from within the Magician software available right here.

How do I update the firmware on my SSD?
The easiest way to update the firmware on your SSD is to use the Magician software.
Yes, but it doesn't work! I keep getting an error when I try to update to the next version of firmware. Magican says I currently have EMT01B6Q, and that EMT02B6Q is available. Clilck on Update, and a blue 'gas gauage' appears and says downloading 60%, then I get the red x circle saying: FAILED TO UPDATE FIRMWARE ON THE SELECTED DRIVE. which is ssd 850 evo 250GB OS DIsk C: Primary Partition.
Now what? :-(

The only thing you'll need is the Samsung Magician Software Suite, no other seperate firmware or device drivers download needed for the 850 EVO.
It's easy to update the firmware if needed the software will alert you.

I had the same problem with only getting to 60% and then failed and solved it by closing all applications that were running in background.
Then the update could be done to 100% and SSD is still working fine.
Maybe Windows Safe Mode could also help you.
I used Magician 4.9.7
