Samsung 850 Pro SSD best driver

Hello, sorry I am not very tech savy but I upgraded my hard drive to a samsung 850 pro ssd and benchmarked with two softwares, AS ssd and Crystaldiskmark. I do not understand how to read the score card. Can someone help me select the right driver ? The test was performed four times. twice with intel Rst driver and twice with msAHCI driver with the benchmark softwares listed above.

I've found something similar to this. Most of those benchmark statistics are the higher the number, the better. Except for the acc time, the lower the better

So should I revert back to AHCI driver from ms?

Because what I find strange is that IOPS are showing faster with IRST vs Ahci IOPS.

Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 37.795 MB/s [ 9227.2 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 101.955 MB/s [ 24891.3 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 265.176 MB/s [ 64740.2 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 261.064 MB/s [ 63736.3 IOPS]

IRST IOPS below
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 32.604 MB/s [ 7960.1 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 62.768 MB/s [ 15324.2 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 396.149 MB/s [ 96716.0 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 338.616 MB/s [ 82669.8 IOPS]

Since it has a greater iops, I would go with that IRST driver.

Wild as it sounds, for the most part I've found that Intel drivers actually work better than most 3rd party drivers, especially ASMedia and Marvell.

Why are the AHCI scores better than irst if IOPS proves better with intel?

Depends on the SSD. QD1 is super low power usage, like at 0-1% cpu, QD32 is max. If you read the recent article on the Mushkin Reactor SSD, it explains it better, and has picture graphs. The way certain SSD and their drivers work can change their iops and read/writes

I have the 840 Pro, and use the IRST driver, and not a single hiccup, but considering the sheer magnitude of the speeds and iops, it would be physically impossible for you to honestly tell any difference. Stick with the IRST.
