i was wondering as far as speed goes if anyone has experience with the two drives if the pro version is it worth the premium over the evo as far as performance speed goes

The big thing about and the reason for the new series is the increased Endurance and Life of the drives with the 3D V-Nand. SATA III has pretty much been maxed out by SSDs at this point, so real world speed is unnoticeable.
I do. I have a 250GB EVO and 256GB Pro in the same rig as a dual-boot Win7 gaming rig setup (although it's the older 840 series Pro, but close enough for comparison). Absolutely zero noticeable difference between the two. The only difference is on the Crystal benchmark numbers, which isn't by much even in write speeds. Not worth the extra money going with the PRO IMO since Samsung's EVO line is such high quality now.
