Question Samsung 860 evo ssd for Lenovo y50

Hello,

I am planning to upgrade from hdd to ssd on my Lenovo y50-70 laptop. It currently has a 1 TB HDD (not an SSHD) and I plan on replacing it with a Samsung 860 evo 1 TB Ssd.

My question is:
Is this ssd compatible with my laptop? And if it is, will I be getting the full speed capacity of this ssd?

Should be if the machine uses sata which it likely does.But laptops are very fussy by design so buy from a dealer that's close by so a return is no hassle.

Yes the laptop has a sata iii connection. So, any sata iii ssd will work on my laptop with its full capacity right?
