About to get a new SSD & wondering if there's much real world difference between Samsung Pro & Evo models ? Currently have a Pro running but want to clone my system onto new drive and finally update to Win 10. Would usually go for the Pro but now it only offers a 5 year warranty I see less of a reason to spend the extra cash ?
I mainly use my system for 3D motion work.

Not much and if you are going from a smaller 860 Pro to a larger 860 Evo. The 860 Evo may be faster.

Does your system support M.2 NVMe? While the 860 series are great SATA SSD. They can't compare in performance to NVMe SSD. Many NVMe models of the same capacity are much cheaper.

860 Pro uses MLC flash and can toloerate very large writes.
860 evo uses TLC and will drop to it's native speed once the buffer gets full. (basically 1/10 the drive size) but is still very high.
Now the 860 EVO QLC uses quad level cells and has significant performance drops after its buffer is full.
