I was wondering which one of these Samsung monitors are better the 931BF or the 931C? I own a 931BF and love it very much, though when I play counter strike black boxes appear if there are a lot of bullets hitting one surface. I use this monitor for light gaming, reading, and office work. What I read on gizmodo is that the 931C is geared for graphics editing and gaming, while the 931BF is just a high performance monitor. I also noticed the BF is newer than the C. Specwise they are all the same besides:

931BF: Non shinny Cab., 300cd/m, 700:1 (DC 2000:1)
931C: Shinney Cab., 250cd/m, 700:1 (DC 2000:1) 2000:1, Wide Colour Gamut (CCFL 97%),PrintViewer

for the 931BF i do not understand the 700:1 (DC 2000:1), is dynamic contrast ratio worse than non dynamic or is it better?

Can anyone else shed any other light on this topic for me?

You might want to look up Dynamic Contrast Ratio on the net for a detailed explanation. Basically, it's "sizzle, not steak". That is, marketing huff... a different way of defining CR to make the numbers higher. (They know that most buyers *believe* "much higher CR = much better picture"... that is definitely NOT true.)

ANY ambient light significantly reduces measured CR, so unless your computer runs in a dark closet, you're unlikely to ever experience CR >500:1

I must say, the 931C's specs are intriguing. To have 7 MagicBrite presets while the specs claim "better colors" leads me to believe they may have a big winner.
