Dear all
I've had my new rig for the last 6 months, and the W10 operating system has started running so slow - apps / loading / even keyboard input slow
All drivers/OS/bios is up to date, and I thought it must be the SSD drive: I have SAMSUNG 950 PRO 512gb (65% used).
I did some benchmarking ( see below) and I note my random IOPS is extremely low.

Before I reinstall W10, could my drive be the problem? - CPU temps are fine. Latest Samsung NVME Driver (PCIe Gen. 3x4)

Im not sure what else I can troubleshoot?

Many thanks in advance

16GB ram (Corsair DDR4 2x8Gb PCR-24000 - 3000Mhz)

GeForce GTX 1080
Win10 64bit Pro

Solution
Your symptoms wouldn't be CAUSED by low IOPS. Your low IOPS might be a symptom of the root cause. Have you tried booting safe mode to see what the benchmarks are ?

Thanks for the explanation about IOPS. I looked at task manager and noted my CPU running high with few apps open. I reinstalled Win10 on the M2 SSD drive. Random IOPS back to normal - up to 300,000 instead of 30,000 I was previously getting.

As you pointed out, something wrong elsewhere , and wondering if it could be the OS / some bad Win10 update

Thank you
