I am considerinr the purchase of either one of these two decent monitors....wich would YOU choose and WHY?

Any other alternative in the same price range? (around 500$cdn)

p.s. I don't want to see these 1/3-2/3 lines across the monitor...

I have the 955DF and I'm satisfied for the quality I got for the price. As for the LG, I've heard good things about it too, but don't have any experience with it.

This monitor is unable to work with ATI chipset, directX 8.1 and any interface who use a resolution ' s emulator with the open glide fonction. You will have a double screen issue. And no [-peep-] help with the suppose Samsung tech support. A guy who sell these monitor is stock to sell Nvidia video cart

Monitors are for the most part dumb terminals, they simply display what the video card sends to them. I have never heard of a compatibility problem with specific monitors and video card chip sets, nor can I imagine how there could be a conflict. Please explain.
