Hey, recently i bought samsung 960evo ssd 250gb and i put it in my m.2 slot in my motherboard (Asus Z97-P) but in bios it hasnt showed up. When i go to Device manager it shows up. I have downloaded the samsung nvme driver. Both on the driver and the ssd in device manager shows up message: was not migrated. I tried updating every possible driver for the chipset and everything, but still it doesnt work. I wanted to migrate os from my hard drive to this new ssd, but it won't let me because the software can't find it. I even tried to load Windows on the samsung ssd from flash drive, but on the Windows software the ssd hasn't showed up. I'm out of ideas and your help would be so appreciated.

NVMe support on Z97 is an afterthought. Return the 250Gb 960 Evo and get a 500GB 850 Evo SATA drive for the same price. You won't notice a difference. The 10Gb/s M2 slot is going to cut the speed in half anyway.
I think Asus made all their Z97 boards bootable from NVMe via a BIOS update. It does not have the support natively though so unless you have the newest BIOS it won't see the drive. You will also be limited to about half the 960 Evo's maximum speed because the M2 slot on that board only operates at PCI-E 2.0 speeds of 10Gb/s. A full speed M2 slot is PCI-E 3.0 and provides 32Gb/s. So even if you get it working it will be crippled.

I have already updated the bios to the newest version. I can't see the ssd drive in bios m.2 slot, but if I go to the boot menu it appears, but i still can't do anything.

BIOS support for new features is usually a bit janky. It tends to work but can be a bit illogical sometimes. Try that links guide near the bottom of the posts.

It would appear you can't have anything in SATA port 1 for the NVMe drive to work.

I tried the method you sent me, but it didn't work. The Windows downloads itself on the ssd disk and then it reboots, but it gets back on the start of copying new Windows.

I’ve done this twice now. The first time I rebooted it and on the second time I didn’t do anything, but it came back on the start.

You seem to be stuck on these steps.

8 - When the PC reboots hit F2 to go back into the BIOS, you will see under boot priority that windows boot manager now lists your NVME drive.

9 - Click on secure boot again but now set it to WIndows UEFI mode.

10 - Click on key management and install default secure boot keys

11 - Press F10 to save and exit and windows will finish the install.

Once you have Windows up and running, shutdown the PC and reconnect your other SATA drives. Do not put anything on SATA port 1 as this is now reserved for the NVME drive.

The problem is, when the windows reboots and I go to bios in boot priority shows up nothing. The new ssd was supposed to show up, but it didn't.
I have found in the advanced mode there is a option for NVMe configuration, but when I click on it, it shows the Samsung EVO and it runs on 2 bus lanes, but still it doesn't show up anywhere else.

The solution that you sent me doesn't work. The Windows Installer installs the os to the new ssd, but when it reboots instead of completing the install, it wants start new install. I went to the store and I bought pci-e m.2 adapter, but nothing has changed.
I tried to update the firmware of the samsung evo, but samsung magician doesn't read the ssd so I had to download some samsung firmware updater that boots itself, but even the updater didn't find the ssd.
I'm going to return it tomorrow and get new one. It could be a faulty ssd.
