Hey guys I was wondering if someone could help me and tell me if I could use a Samsung 960 Pro on my MSI H97 E35 mobo as a boot drive even though it does not have a m.2 slot.

I was wondering if it would work if I would use a pcie x4 m.2 adapter something like this https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboard-Accessory/HYPER_M2_X4_MINI_CARD/

Any advice from this community would be greatly appreciated. :)

You only have one PCI Express x16 slot which likely is used for a video card.

No motherboard NVMe support means you need third-party modified BIOS or software such as Clover to support NVMe.

Compatible Models for the card you list are:
ASUS Z170/H170/X99/Z97/H97/B85 series motherboard models
