Hi

I have a Samsung 970 evo as stated in the title.

And I am confused by the fact that when downloading a game from steam at around 80MB/s (Mega Bytes/s)
The task manager says the disk is writing at a speed of around 250MB/s, and while this is kinda wierd, it still makes sense as i imagine the downloaded files need to be handled by the disk in a way that requires more work. (further explanation of this is very welcome)

But, at only 250MB/s write speed and maybe 10MB/s Read speed, task manager tells me that the disk is at around 50% utilisation..?

And as far as i know it is rated at 3500 MBps (Read) / 3200 MBps (Write)..

Even though those are theoretical max speeds, I still find it wierd how only 260 MB/s total is 50% utilisation?

Is the writing process really so complex that the max speed in this case would be around 500MB/s?

Solution
Disk Utilization is how many requests the drive received vs. how many requests it can handle at once. It's not an indication of how much bandwidth is being used.

EDIT: If you hover over the graph, a tool tip pops up that'll tell you what it means

Also silly me, the thing says it's "Percentage of time the disk is processing read or write requests." So it's more or less a "time spent not idling" graph.
