I have Intel B150 chipset B150M Bazooka model and I was planning to buy Samsung 970 EVO 500GB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD (MZ-V7E500BW) but I don't know if my motherboard will give me the full benefit of this ssd or even if has a socket to run it on official website it says SATA express 16gb/s which I read is capable of running pcie and I assume pcie is m2 which is this ssd type but I don't know if 16bg/s supports 3500mb/s reading or it is gonna be like putting a 3000mhz ram on 2133mhz motherboard. I couldn't find any useful info about ssd types and motherboard compatibilities sorry.

Solution
Your motherboard doesn't have a M.2 slot, so the 970 evo won't work.
You're better off getting a SATA III SSD like the 860 evo.... it'll provide similar performance.

That does not have a native m.2 port. No booting from it.

At best, you could install it in a PCIe slot with an adapter, and use it as a secondary drive. And it would not be able to run at its native speed.

On that motherboard, there is zero reason to try to use an NVMe drive. Waste of money.
