Hi all,

Has anyone tried to install a Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB onto an ASUS Z390-I motherboard successfully? I have tried that, using the latest ASUS BIOS (2401) but it would NOT recognize any NVME devices in the BIOS. Can anyone help?

CPU: Intel i7-8700K
Motherboard: ASUS Z390-I
Ram: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 32GB 3000 (2x16GB)
SSD/HDD: 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD 1TB (MZ-V7S1T0BW )
GPU: on-board GPU used
PSU: Be quiet! Pure Power 11 CM - 400 W
Chassis: NZXT H200i (Mini ITX case)

Regards,
Mark

Thanks for the help so far. Unfortunately, none of them worked. I tried Calvin7's suggestion and I was able to boot from my Windows 10 memory stick. However, when selection the location to install Windows, the installation process is telling me that it didn't find a partition to install onto. Neither does the drive show up in the BIOS. BUMP.

Trying to put it in slot 2 is a nightmare, as this ASUS board is so tiny, I have unscrew everything in order to swap it. I guess, there is no way around it.

This is really weird. Thanks for the tip rgd1101. I swapped it to slot 2 and it worked. Since I still wanted it in slot 1, I swapped it back and guess what ... it worked! Thanks for the tipps :).
