No it's not. Unless you transfer files from and to the same PCIe 4.0 or another PCIe 4.0 it's totally not worth it. You load your Windows 1 second faster. You load your games a second faster. PCIe 4.0 is a joke for 99.99% of the people using a NVMe SSD.

Since it didn't... let me just say I bought the 970 Evo Plus drives because... PCie4.0 isn't worth it.

I'll never get a 980 Pro as long as Samsung uses this deceptive "3-bit MLC" moniker. Just call it TLC like everyone else.
