Hello. I recently installed a Samsung 980 PRO 2tb drive to play games on, I am not running my OS on this drive however. Whenever I try to play games installed on this drive, however, they tend to work for a little bit before crashing. Afterwards, the drive will often disappear from my file explorer or become unusable entirely. This can generally be fixed by restarting my pc, but it does not fix the bigger issue. However, this drive does pass a crystal diskmark test as well as BIOS and samsung magician testing. I have tried reinstalling firmware and drivers through samsung magician, and switching m.2 ports. (I have a gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite and a 5800x3d). The drive is also capable of transferring and downloading files from steam and other softwares, it just seems as though it simply cannot play games. I would appreciate any suggestions or ideas. Thank you all for your help

What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard? As for your SSD, using Samsung's magician app, did you make sure to see if the drive is pending any firmware updates? Which slot is the SSD populating on the board? Perhaps see if aiming a fan at the SSD to create airflow helps alleviate the issue.

I recently updated to BIOS f38. I did check the firmware in magician for updates, and my drive is currently sitting under a heatsink in the top slot.
