I would love to own a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB. WOW…but for $345? But for me and for the time being any 4TB SSD would have to serve as a dedicated ‘back-up drive' and with that the Samsung T7 4TB, portable at $220, I see to be a better choice. I also question if I could really feel and come to appreciate the speed of sequential reads around 7,400 MB/s compared to my older 980 PRO SSDs which I deem to be all the speed I will ever need.

Changing from a 980 Pro to 990 Pro, no.

If you were building up a new system and needed that 4TB, maybe.

When used as a second drive , 0,5 W idling is not nothing in a laptop on batteries.

I have posted a benchmark here, not really impressed by these drives we bought at our company.

Kingston, Kiokxia awesome. WD Black similar and cheaper.

I am kind of tired discovering that my benchmark is far away from published benchmarks, for me these drives once I got them left me sad. Nothing special. Should have bought something better.
