Question Samsung ChromeBook Cleaning

I have a Samsung Chromebook with a meager 16Gb of storage. I am continually getting messages about running out of space and removing un-needed files, etc, from my notebook. I always clear out my browser history, and still find messages that I have files that I can't find. I go to a folder with, like, 8Gb of files, but nothing is there.

How do I clean out this thing thoroughly? Someone awhile back gave me the name of an app that totally cleans my Book, but I can't find it anymore. Anyone tell me how to clean this thing? I try to keep the apps down to a minimum,but with 16GB of room, it's next to impossible.

Once upon a time, Chromebooks had something called PowerWash. I suppose you can also "reinstall" your CHromebook from scratch.

Not quite what I was looking for. I can reset the Book, but all I want to do is clean up the hidden files that seem to be taking up too much space. There was an app that did that, and I can't find it now.
