Hard drive is shown at "Local Disc F". Yesterday the drive worked perfectly fine could dump and go all day long. All of the drivers are up to date and the drive is recognized in disk management and device management. The genius at seagate told me to remove the drive from its case and try it that way. I have not done that because it is recognized and mounts just doesnt let me into the folder what so ever.

Solution
try deleting the drive from device manager, reply yes to deleting the drivers/associate files. then unlplug the drive for a few minutes. now plug it back into the exact same usb port and windows will read and reload the drivers for it.

let us know if that works.

Hi there itsjuicetime,

What popatim suggested is a good thing to start with. Also, you can attach the drive with a different cable.
In case the issue persists, you can try testing the drive with some HDD testing tool: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/282651-32-best-diagnostic-testing-utility

Also, keep in mind that taking the drive out of the enclosure will void the warranty. On the other hand, this approach may do the job in case there is something wrong with the enclosure.
