So, I PCI express card revo is working fine with windows 8.1 pro. I just got a new pro 850 cus the revo drive is running out of space.

It would be nice to do the data migration to the 850 pro, if it works. Just because the 850 is the better and potentially more stable drive. The thing is, I don't have to do it. I could use the 850 as storage. (is it ok to do it from a idte drive to an achi drive?)

What happens if I do the migration and it fails? Can I just reformat the 850 and use it as a storage? No damage done?

Solution
So, I finally got everything working, I just want to post my solution that worked for me.
Acronis is a good software, but it didn't work well with PCI Express drives, since the copy happens after the reboot and before the OS and the pci-express card isn't loaded till after the bios. That's my understanding on why it didn't work well.

What did work is free Macrium Reflect Disk Mangement, I was able to clone the drive fine and that worked on bootup. Only problem with that was that it left 128GB of unallocated space. So I had to extend the partition with free AOMEI Partition manager, and that worked well to make my partition larger.

So that combination worked great for me and no cost.
Well the Samsung software didn't work. I was able to boot and log in, but all my programs were empty. I then tried to take my old drive out and still just about the same thing but worse.
Going to try Acronis migrate easy and spend the $30

Well, the samsung migration sort of worked, at least it was running off the samsung drive, but it said it was my D: drive and things were a little strange and it didn't work if I disconnected my old drive.

Trying the Acronis software, but it can't find my source SCSI drive. asking their support now.
