Samsung Data Migration question

I'm trying to clone my HDD to my SSD using the software that came with the SSD (Samsung 850 Evo 1TB). The program I'm trying to use is Samsung Data Migration, and when I open the program, it shows the source and target disks as being the same: Samsung SSD 850 Evo 1TB (931.5 GB). I've already formatted the SSD to NTFS and it shows up in File Explorer, but I can't select my HDD in the Data Migration program as the source.

EDIT: I double-checked that the SSD shows up in disk management, which it does, and reformatted it. Now when I run Data Migration, it shows the source disk as Microsoft Storage Space Device--not my HDD. When I try to run it this way, it returns with an error: an error occurred while writing to the source disk

Solution

I've not messed with Storage Spaces, but I think that looks normal. The top portion is your current drive, incl whatever other drives are connected in that Storage Space.
The bottom is your SSD.

It's showing the same size on both, because that is what your SSD will end up as.
748.3GB used, out of the 1TB (931GiB actual)

I tried using the snipping tool to save a screenshot but it stops responding. In my window, the target disk looks as shown in your pic, except the SSD isn't inside a drop-down menu and the source disk reads Microsoft Storage Space Device (931.5 GB)

When I ran the program with the source and target configured like in my pic, I get an error: An error occurred while writing to the Target Disk. 301001[0497c9]
