I don't think that means what you think it means. There is a difference between a beggar and begging.

If you are a beggar, you don't have the status or money to command your desire. Thus you take whatever comes your way. This can be expressed, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

I currently have a Dell S2417DG with the 144Hz TN panel with G-Sync. G-Sync does work and it is noticeable when I switch back to a non-G-Sync monitor. However, the viewing angles on this TN panel are horrible, both horizontal and vertical. I would rather have a better panel, with that curve, to give me a better viewing experience overall than adaptive refresh.

When I compare side by side, the G-Sync loses out to me personally over seeing a clear colorful picture across the screen.
