Samsung EVO 850 slower Bench than 840?

Recently bought 3x 500gb 850 EVO's and all 3 show considerably lower benchmarks than my 2year old 840's... Benched within Samsung Magician software
Is this normal/expected?

Results shown are both SSD's within the same system. The same speeds are shown on 2 other laptops they're installed in.
Mobo- MSI MPOWER Z97, SATA III ports only. Laptops sata III ports too with AHCI enabled.

Latest drivers? Windows Update? any Profile selected in OS Optimization?

Windows 10 pro 64bit. Did a format of all drives today and fresh install of win10, had same results yesterday when OS was win10 upgraded from 8.1
Fresh OS install so have latest windows updates / drivers / firmware etc
Profile is Max Performance

EVO's in laptops were to replace original HDD's, so again both fresh OS install (win10 home x64), all updates/drivers/firmware/software is latest
BIOS/UEFI and OS configured fine too

CrystalDisk gave same/similar results

USerBenchmark* Also shows the 850 performs slower than others;

Make sure you're not using the ASmedia SATA ports on your MB.

How do i tell them apart? All 8 ports are labelled as "SATA 6Gb/s Connector"

Ok i see there are 2 of 8 are ASMedia ports but not labelled which are which. I'll try switch ports thanks.

When I looked up your board specs, it says 7 and 8.

Doesn't show the ASMedia aspect in the any of the documentation that comes with the motherboard, only online.
